Avoid Thinking about Your Shot

Never think about shot mechanics during the game. A game is not the time to analyze your skill or technique. Just like a final exam you should be more concerned about winning the game and scoring rather than tip and technique. That is done during practice.

If you want to think, think that it doesn’t matter if you make the basket. If it does make the basket, congratulate yourself and move on. If it does not, tell yourself that it was a nice try and you will make it next time.

Tips like these are important for your game psyche and natural form.

Practicing of Shooting Drills

Instead of standing, waiting to shoot hoops, try to restrict shooting the ball to only after an exhaustive drill. This will test how well you perform in the middle of the game. In fact, this is the only way shooting drills should be practiced during a practice.
